SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Authors
Anyone aged 24 and under is eligible to submit to our youth-created journal
Theme
All submissions must be related to climate change or the environment
The following media will be considered for publication:
Articles
Manuals/How-To Guides
Poetry
Short Stories
Photography
Artwork
Paintings
Drawings
Collages, etc.

Media Types
Originality: Submissions must be your own creative work, the use of AI is strictly prohibited
Relevance: Your piece should clearly tie back to climate change or the environment, and it should provide insight, information, or reflection on the topic
Language & Tone: Submissions must be clear, engaging, and accessible to a broad audience. Avoid jargon or overly technical language unless explained in the piece, please maintain an informative, yet thought-provoking tone
Inclusivity: Ensure that your work does not exclude or harm marginalized communities, climate change often disproportionately impacts these communities, and we want to shed-light on this and climate justice as a whole in this journal
Grammar and Clarity: Submissions must be free of grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors, please proofread your work or use grammar-checking tools
Digestibility: Content should be easy to understand for a general audience, break up large blocks of text, use subheadings, and keep paragraphs concise to improve readability
Content and Style Guidelines
For any written work, please submit via Google Docs so we can support in editing your writing
Maximum of 1,500 words
All sources must be cited in MLA format via endnotes
If falsely cited, we cannot publish your work
Articles and How-to Guides

No word count requirement for poetry, just ensure that length remains manageable and relevant to the theme

Poetry and Short Stories
Submit high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi)
Provide credits (e.g., photographer’s name, and year created)
Please include a brief description of the image and it’s connection to climate change or the environment in your submission
Photos and Artwork
If your piece has been selected for publication, someone from our team will reach out to you to share our feedback and request you complete final revisions.
